The Power Station

In the fall of 2012, at the end of numerous runs of the Hippo Hotel, Dedo Vabo, Chris Wagganer and Syd Klinge pitched The Power Station to The Coachella Music and Arts Festival. It marked the first absurdist, performance-based installation that the festival comissioned since it began in 1999. The concept involved an elaborate electrical power station facility, harnessed by the raw energy of robust hippopotamuses. The Power Station featured Syd's famous dueling Tesla Coils, known to be the two largest in the world, as well as multiple Jacob's Ladders pulsing live current on the roof and walls of the structure.
